The film is unusual for number of reasons with most prominent being the pairing, which sees Juhi opposite Manoj Bajpai. Juhi Chawla is at that stage of her career where she can comfortably experiment with her roles in each movie of hers. Her recent releases Salaa-E-Ishq and Bas Ek Pal saw her playing different characters and the same is expected from her upcoming film Swami.

Though many people, both within and outside the industry, still feel that Ganesh being a choreographer should have made a film on songs and dances. Instead he has made a film that takes a slice from life approach and has followed a sensitive route while belonging to the 'social' genre.
Whispers within the industry indicate that Ganesh has shed his flamboyance as witnessed in his dance moves and has instead focused on subtle narrative centred on human emotions.
