Irrfan will be playing the role of an NSD actor who is struggling to find his way into Bollywood. He will be seen sporting several get-ups for this film. According to Rohit Shetty, the movie has been titled Sunday as the main events that make up the story take place on a particular Sunday.

Ajay Devgan plays a cop. Arshad Warsi is a cab driver in the film. 

Synopsis
The film revolves around a girl name Sehar who is unable to remember a particular Sunday in her life.

Sehar’s (Ayesha Takia) world turns topsy-turvy when she gets a clue about the missing Sunday of her life, which points to a possible violent attacks on her. A.C.P Rajveer (Ajay Devgan) takes up the case to sort out the complicated and jumbled up threads of Sehar’s life. 

In the process of solving Sehar’s case it comes to light that on Sunday, different people interacted with her and amongst them, one could be the accused. The lot included Ballu, the taxi driver (Arshad Warsi) and his friend, Kumar, a struggling NSD actor (Irrfan Khan), Ritu, Sehar’s close friend, a scary and suspicious character who resides in Sehar’s society, and the group whom she had come across while partying at the discotheque. 

While trying to solve the puzzle, Rajveer stumbles upon a murder case whose clues hold up Sehar to be the culprit.
