After the smashing success of SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA, director Apoorva Lakhia is geared up with his next venture, titled MISSION ISTANBUL. To start with, he has roped in a huge star cast for the film as well: Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Vivek Oberoi, Tusshar. While Abhishek, Bobby and Vivek play good guys, Tusshar, Shabbir are the bad boys.

The film is based on terrorism and was shot in Afghanistan, Srinagar, Mumbai and Istanbul. Suniel Shettys Popcorn Entertainment and Ekta Kapoors Balaji together have produced this film. Abhishek Bachchan is reportedly star alongside Vivek Oberoi this feat is being accomplished by the producer of the movie Sunil Shetty, who says that Abhishek and Vivek do have scenes together in the movie."Why should they have any problem? Abhishek is a thorough professional. He has no problem with anybody, yes; they do have scenes together in the film and they have done them splendidly. It's very unfair to bring in personal matters to question their professionalism. Neither Abhishek nor Vivek have expressed any misgivings about working together. There's unnecessary speculation." Says the producer Sunil Shetty

Synopsis
A high-tension espionage thriller revolving around the world of the television media.

One of India's most respected journalists, Vikas Sagar (Zayed Khan) receives an offer he cannot refuse from Owais Hussain (Sunil Shetty). Owais is the head of an Istanbul television news channel. He offers Vikas a very high salary package with all the frills if he accepts a position within his company.

For Vikas, this offer couldn't have come at a better time. He is going through a messy divorce with his wife Anjali (Shriya Saran) and needs to get away from the stress of it all. So Vikas accepts Hussain's offer whole-heartedly. But little does he know that one decision will change his life forever.

Well settled into his new role, he decides to voice his plans to quit the channel and move on to newer pastures. But to his surprise, he learns from the Turkish commando, Rizwan Khan (Vivek Oberoi), on how others who quit the television channel got mysteriously killed because they knew too much.

So will this journalist be able to survive the onslaught where others have fallen prey?

After the box office success of Shoot Out at Lokhandwala (2007) director Apoorva Lakhia is ready with his next venture, Mission Istanbul, an espionage thriller filmed in Turkey, Srinagar and Mumbai.

Actor Zayed Khan will be seen playing the character of a journalist for the first time.He has given a restrained performance compared with his other flicks where audiences have always seen him playing the lover boy.
