Touted as one of Bollywood’s most expensive films, Love Story 2050 will be released in July. Shot entirely in Adelaide, Australia, this Priyanka Chopra-Harman Baweja starrer has some great daredevil stunts and special effects to watch out for.

Love Story 2050 has Priyanka in a double role; Harman Baweja makes his debut in Bollywood as her love interest. It also stars a first-of-its-kind robot and a pink teddy bear, which, incidentally, is more than just an ordinary stuffed toy.

The movie opens with Boman Irani playing the role of a scientist who has just completed building a time machine. The film goes on to show Baweja and his girlfriend Chopra setting out on a journey through the time machine into the future to a Mumbai set in 2050, with robots, holograms, flying cars and Indian ninjas! Chopra plays a double role, one of a coy girl next door and another of a spunky, fearless and bold ‘girl of the future’. The on-screen chemistry between the very hot Baweja and the gorgeous Chopra is something to watch out for. The movie, like most Bollywood flicks, is about the triumph of love.

Weta Workshop of New Zealand and John Cox from Brisbane have created the special effects for the film, which is being directed by Harry Baweja. Even if the love angle does not interest the audience, the special effects are definitely something to look out for in this movie.

Obviously, the film will be up for comparison with some of the other Indian sci fi films that have been released earlier, notably Mr India, Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish. Mr India had Anil Kapoor playing the lead role with much aplomb. It came at a time when sci fi movies were new to India and the audience readily lapped it up.

Another sci fi flick was Rakesh Roshan’s hit Koi Mil Gaya, based entirely on the English film ET. Its sequel Krrish, starring Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra, was also a big hit with the audiences. Sci fi films are a relatively new and untrodden terrain for Bollywood, so it’s difficult to predict the fate of Love Story 2050. But from the previews, it looks like it might make its mark after all.

Synopsis:
Boman Irani plays an eccentric scientist who has dedicated 15 years of his life into building a Time Machine. In the promos Boman is shown jubilating with his successful invention. The character played by Harman Baweja along with his girlfriend (Priyanka Chopra) sets out on a journey to the year 2050 through the time machine. Then, they land in a futuristic Mumbai having flying cars, holograms, robots and Indian ninjas, androids, and laser guns. The story moves further from there. In short, the movie revolves around the invention of a time machine, which allows the couple to travel in future to know more about their life in the year 2050.

Priyanka will play a double role in the movie. Her characters are contrast of each other one belongs to present and other to the future, her first character is of a coy girl next door from the present whereas, the other one is of a bold and headstrong girl from the future.
