With his blockbuster hit Dilwaale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, still running successfully, completing thirteen years, he had directed his second feature film, Mohobbatein in 2000, after which, he decided to give break to his direction skills. This was planned for a reason. He had to bring up the Yash Raj Film Production House, and he sure has brought it to glorious levels. The production banner has given some of the best hits in the recent past including Dhoom, Dhoom2, Bunty Aur Bubly, SALAAM NAMASTE, FANAA and CHAK DE INDIA. All this while, he also wrote the script of the super hit VEER ZARA.
“Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” will remind audiences of the magic touch that has made “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” the longest running motion picture in Indian cinema history. Indeed the jodi of Adi and SRK will once again be a treat for film audiences and the romantic confection of “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” looks set to capture hearts across the globe all over again.
Shahrukh dons a totally new avatar in the film complete with spiky hair, electric blue shirts and really sassy Ray Bans quite contrast with the other look of a moustached King Khan. Well you don't need to be a particle physicist to figure out this singularity - Sharukh Khan has a double role in this film. This time around, supermodel Anushka Sharma makes her debut opposite SRK who will be seen romancing the 19-year-old model.
Just one look of the poster is enough to get you curious about Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Firstly it is not set in the Swiss Alps or Manhattan. And the leading lady – whose face is hidden by the way, is dressed in a simple salwar, not in a chiffon sari. But the real surprise is Shah Rukh Khan who is not on a Harley Davidson sporting designer glasses and jackets.
If Chak De! India was simple; here he is wearing formal grey trousers, an over-sized white shirt and unbranded sports shoes. Behind him is a scooter parked in what looks like a street in a north Indian suburb.
But with reports of a lavish song featuring the top five actresses with Shah Rukh being shot, one is sure the film will have enough doses of glamour to balance the simplicity. Both of Aditya Chopra's films had their taglines featuring very prominently on the posters. So, if DDLJ was 'Come fall in love' and Mohabbatein was 'Some love stories live forever' this time it is 'There is an extraordinary love story in every jodi'. The film opens worldwide on
