Kangna is first time paired with Madhavan and it was Anand Rai’s idea to show a brand new pair in his movie that will give a fresh feeling to the audiance after seeing same old pairs together in different movies, and according to Anand Rai audiance will enjoy watching this new pair. Apart from the movie being comedy the characters names are also given similar ways Manu will be Kangna’s character and Tanu will be Madhavan’s character.

Kangana Ranaut, will romance not one, not two, but three boys in the film, Tanu Weds Manu. The film is about a young NRI, played by R. Madhavan (as Manu), who dreams of marrying a girl from India. Kangana Ranaut (Tanu) is the chosen one for him and, quite contrary to what he had visualized as his dream bride, Kangana has three boyfriends and consumes alcohol! What happens when Tanu’s marriage is fixed with Manu is what this film is all about.

Meet 'Manu', a seedha saadha Doctor from London. Intelligent, temperate and from a respectable family, the perfect groom which every parent wants for their daughter. 'Family pressure' leads him to Kanpur to meet Tanu the quintessential small town girl who has studied in Delhi.

Tanu is a smart, intelligent girl who will do everything that her parents will disapprove. With a mind of her own and a love for rebellion, Tanu is dead against an arranged marriage.

But destiny holds something totally different for these dramatically diverse personalities. Their paths keep crossing time and again and weave this wonderful story through the Indian heartland.

R Madhavan as Manoj Sharma:
