Directed and written by Pankaj Kapoor Mausam is an upcoming film starring Shahid Kapoor opposite Sonam Kapoor along with Pankaj Kapoor. Presented by Eros Entertainment & Religare Vistaar Entertainment the film is a directorial debut for Pankaj Kapoor it will also mark the first time apperance of Shahid Kapoor opposite his father. Shahid was eager on getting Katrina Kaif to be a part of the film , Kareena Kapoor was another option for Kapoor but Pankaj Kapoor decided that Sonam Kapoor would be featured opposite Shahid. The film is shot in London, Edinburgh, and India. Mausam is set for release on 22 july 2011.

The story of the film is still strictly under wraps. Though it was reported that in the movie, Shahid and Sonam play characters who age from 20 years to 40 years but Sonam rubbishes the story “That’s half-baked news,” says Sonam. “My character in the movie is not that of a ‘mature woman’, as reported. I very much play a girl of my age, though her character’s unlike anything I have played earlier. My look is certainly different in the film but it’s not at all ‘old’.”
Not willing to divulge much about her role, Sonam says that Mausam is a “classical love story.” “It’s a sensitive, simple and intensely romantic love story. I can’t thank Mr Pankaj Kapur for casting me on a whim for this role, though he had auditioned a number of girls. It’s a very challenging role, and I actually cried the first time I read the script.”
