Karan Johar’s next directorial venture is called Student of The Year starring three newcomers. The film will be co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment along with Dharma Productions.
Johar will be launching Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Alia Bhatt, David Dhawan's son Varun Dhawan and another newcomer Siddharth Malhotra in the movie. Dhawan and Malhotra have earlier been assistants to various directors. It is also believed that KJo's good friend SRK will do a cameo for this one.
Unlike Johar's last two films which had a more serious note; Student Of The Year will be a fun film with lots of songs and dancing, more on the lines of Johar’s hit film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Last year too, Karan introduced directors like Punit Malhotra, Ayaan Mukherjee and Siddharth Malhotra through Dharma productions. It seems that the filmmaker is on a launching spree and is one of the few who take pride in providing platform to new talent. It's a commendable effort by KJo and we wish Siddharth, Varun and Alia of best luck.
