After giving blockbusters like 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai, Vidhu Vinod Chopra is back with his next, Ferrari Ki Sawari... staring Sharman Joshi, Nilesh Divekar and Boman Irani in the lead.
Sharman Joshi, who also starred in 3 Idiots, will make his debut as a lead actor. The film is directed by Rajesh Mapuskar and is written and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Rajukumar Hirani has written the dialogues.
Vidya Balan will also feature as an item girl for the first time in Ferrari Ki Sawaari. In the song titled Mala Jau De, Vidya will be seen in a traditional Maharashtrian sari, performing lavani dance.
Ferrari Ki Saawari revolves around an eight year old's dreams of playing at Lord's some day. Vinod admits that he must have looked at over 1,000 boys while scouting for his little star. "I went as far as the cricket academy in Dehradun and Roger Binny's academy in Bangalore but somehow none of them matched up," the writer-producer reminisces.

Eventually, his hero was spotted at a McDonald's outlet in Mumbai by one of the assistants of Rajesh Mapuskar. "The child, who is nine, was with his mother and when Raju's assistant approached her with the offer of a film role, she tagged him as a pest and asked him to stay away," Vinod recalls with a laugh.
The film, scheduled to release on April 27, will be the first big movie to open during the fourth season of Indian Premier League. Vinod says it's appropriately given that it's about an aspiring 12-year-old
cricketer.
