Interesting
times for Bollywood continues as films with new and
genuinely subjects start-attracting crowds towards them. 'Delhii
Heights' could just be another addition to the crop of
such films that try to tread a different path. As the
title suggests, the film is set in a high-rise apartment
of Delhi. Anther inference that can be made about the
title is its similarity to 'Delhites' - the way people
living in Delhi are addressed.
'Delhii
Heights' is yet another film, which is not based on any
heroes and heroines but primarily, boasts of a character
driven plot. One look at the various characters in the
film and you would know for yourself.
How
similar and different can a couple be? Ask Abi [Jimmy
Shergill] and Suhana [Neha Dhupia] and they will certainly
have an answer to it. They could just have passed on as
yet another young couple that you come across in your
neighbourhood. But there is one small hitch!

|
They
both work for rival companies. Which means that that their
world just doesn't restrict in the office space. It knocks
at their doors even when they are back home! Now that's as
interesting as it gets because on one side they have taken
vows to stand besides each other through all happiness and
sorrows while on the other hand they are on a warring
path, as far as their professional lives are concerned!
Another
such couple, though not so young, is that of Bobby [Rohit
Roy] and Saima [Simone Singh]. In their case Saima has a
different problem altogether to handle. It doesn't have to
deal with the office, locality, neighbors or their
apartment. It's her husband itself! Bobby's flirtatious
nature that is hardly amusing for Saima. Though both are
aware that this is not doing anything great for their
married life, a series of incidents happen that bring
around a change in their lives!

From
a young to a not-so-young couple, the story introduces a
middle aged Sikh couple of Timmy Kohli [Om Puri] and Ruby
[Kamini Khanna]. They are together. They are happy. And
they always have fun together! So what's the issue?
Timmyji just can't digest the fact that the eldest of his
two daughters has now grown up and is ready to face the
world. Because in his eyes, she is still a 'bachchi'!

Apart
from the three couples, there are also other colorful
characters in the film led by none other than Lucky [Vivek
Shauq]. He is the mystery man in the film and a cricket
bookie by profession. Hilarious to the core, he would be
found dialling numbers and receiving calls every minute
when a match is on! What does destiny have in store for
him? And how do the three couples affect his life? |

|
Last
but not the least there are 4 boys who are the easiest to
be identified! They are young, they are growing up, and
they are looking for an opportune moment to 'pataofy' any
and every girl that comes their way. Cast, creed, colour,
religion, age - everything no bar!

|
|
|
With
all of them staying together in Delhii Heights, there is
ample opportunity for their stories to collide with each
other. And that indeed happens when they all cross path!
What they learn from each other and how everyone's
presence in the society impacts their lives forms the crux
of 'Delhii Heights'!

Producer
by Prabhu with story and direction by Anand Kumar, the
film is also notable for its music, which is given by none
other than Rabbi 'Bulla' Shergill. Sivaji productions, the
production banner founded by Thespian Sivaji Ganesan
nearly 50 years ago, is a banner behind 'Delhii Heights'.
