Govinda, with whom Salman plays a prankster in David Dhawan's Partner vouches for it. Rumour has it that Salman has virtually allowed Govinda to walk away with the show. The film's director says, "Salman has certainly been generous, not just as a producer of Partner but also as a co-star. Partner is my ninth film with Salman and 17th film with Govinda. They're both like my brother and friend respectively. I was a little worried what their partnership would look like."

David Dhawan says, "The chemistry between Salman and Govinda is amazing. Govinda will surprise everyone. People will see him the way they like to. But we've also kept changing comic tastes in mind. It's a very fresh script on male bonding. It’s Govinda-Salman's show all the way. Salman has been so gracious with Govinda. He has taken good care of Govinda, never behaved like a star. Three of us are like one family. We hide nothing from one another. On the sets if I asked Salman to let Govinda take over a scene he gladly moved back. 'Theek hai dialogue de do. Woh bol lega.' That was his attitude. This casual generosity makes him so endearing." 

When mention about Sallu’s Big heart Govinda gets visually moved, in his words initially, he was apprehensive of getting a raw deal working with Sallu in his own home production after being put on a tight rein in Bhagam Bhag. But Salman completely put him at ease. "I've never come across a more generous co-star and producer," says Govinda emotionally. One look at Govinda will show that the actor is in perfect shape. After reducing 11 kgs in the last 10 months, he intends to shed another seven kgs in the time to come. Ask the hero number-1 as to why he is on a serious weight reduction programme and he says, "You should see Salman Khan. You'll get a complex. He further reasons that he wants to "at least look okay so that he can match up to the standards of Salman." Says Govinda who is working with Salman in David Dhawan's film Partner.

He talks about Partner. "I went to my friend David and said that I wanted to work with Salman. He immediately called up salman and conveyed my desire and Salman was just as happy to work with me," says Govinda. Partner is an out-and-out comedy. "It's the typical Govinda-David jugalbandi," the actor explains. Govinda's talk veers back to Salman. "You know what? There is only one Salman Khan in this world. He does things for people and forgets it. He will always have dua no.1 with him," says the actor known for his comic timing.

Govinda who has always been lambasted for his dress-sense, is happy that Alvira (Salman sister) is styling him. “I have been known for my colourful clothes. I can’t come back like that in today’s time. Everything is changing. I am working with Salman Khan in the movie. He’s such a handsome and well-dressed man and to keep up with him I needed somebody who can give me that look. Baby (Alvira), his sister, has potential and can understand the character very well. I am in a new avatar,” he smiles.

Salman Khan and Govinda will be seen together for the first time in Partner. The star cast of this film also include Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif. Salman’s brother Sohail Khan produces the film. Salman plays a love guru who is highly experienced in matters relating to romance and girl-wooing. Govinda, on the other hand, plays an innocent inexperienced man who takes advice from the love guru to woo Katrina.
