Hrithik’s international looks, superb physique, dancing skills and good acting skills have helped him develop a major fan following amongst Asians and non-Asians alike in the West. He has already come into the notice of directors and production houses in Hollywood and has also featured in Hollywood publications such as the Los Angeles Times as well as the Hollywood Reporter.

With so much popularity already in Hollywood one can’t help but wonder what could have prompted Hrithik to turn down a blockbuster like Superman. But people back home says Daggu is giving greater importance to daddy Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish 2 and he doesn’t want to go from playing India’s numero uno superhero to a side kick to Hollywood’s number one superhero.

Hrithik is currently nursing an injured leg, which has also put a stop to the completion of Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Jodhaa Akbar following which Hrithik will begin on the scripting sessions for Krrish 2. “It’s not the Hrithik is not looking to do Hollywood films. He would love to but he isn’t going to jump at every script that comes his way,” says the source.

The handsome hunk of bollywood, who is essaying the part of Emperor Akbar in ‘Jodha- Akbar’, has injured his knees while enacting a fight sequence for the film and now has been advised by the doctors to take bed rest for three months. Now, the actor does not intend to work for any new film for a few months before his injury heals completely.

In fact, despite of the knee injury, Hrithik had continued to shoot the long battle sequences for the film, which is a historical film based on the relationship of Mughal Emperor Akbar and his Rajput Queen Jodha Bai. Gorgeous Aishwarya Rai is enacting the character of Jodha Bai and she has also learnt for this purpose sword fighting, horse riding and other war related activities as the movie has a lot of scenes where Emperor Akbar goes to battlefield accompanied by his Rajput queen. The most of shooting for the film has been done in the forts and palaces of princely city of Jaipur in Rajasthan with a large number of horses, camels and donkeys.

During the course of shooting, Hrithik had been taking painkillers and other medicines to continue with the shooting despite his knee injury but his knee required not only the medicines but also the rest, which the actor completely ignored. This further accentuated the problem and now has come to the pass, where he has been advised to take the bed rest for a long three-month time.

Now, the superhero of bollywood has decided not to move out of Mumbai for the next few months and take complete bed rest. During this period, he does intend to complete the dubbing for the Ashutosh Gowarikar’s film, besides going for some patchwork in the Nitin Desai’s studio at Karjat. Hrithik Roshan is in no mood to sign any new project before being declared completely fit by his doctors.

The film, which was scheduled for a release on October 12, is likely to be pushed to next year due to non-completion of background music by the ace music director A R Rahman.

Hm…hm…seems Jodha- Akbar is jinxed from the very beginning, no??...Earlier it was Aishwarya’s marriage with Abhishek which had delayed the film…. and now emperor’s injury, what say??
