The beauty queen and former Miss World is one of the busiest stars today. The tremendous success of Krissh has left her flooded with offers, and she has made her mark by racing ahead and signing only the most qualitative and productive projects. Priyanka is on her way to rule the roost for a long time in Bollywood. She is the complete package for becoming the next number one and the queen of Indian cinema. She is talented; she is a dedicated and responsible individual, so much so that SRK himself is astonished to see a young actress work so hard. She has given hits such as
Andaaz, Waqt and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi in the time of failures, and last but certainly not the least she is a beautiful person, both inside and out. It is good that recognition is finally knocking at her doors, because she is one queen who deserves the throne and the crown. She is being heralded as the next number one actress that's the trade buzz today and we addresses the question to Priyanka Chopra herself:
Are you aware that you're being heralded as the next number one actress?
Well, it gets a bit stressful sometimes. I hope people continue to like my films. I try to be cautious about choosing the correct projects. It has to be a film that I would want to see the minute I hear it, it should make me go, ‘wow, I want to do it.'
The only big banner you're yet to work with is Yash Raj Films. Comment.
Well, somehow things haven't worked so far between Yash Raj Films and me. Whichever films we wanted to do, didn't happen, as we couldn't coordinate the dates. Yash Raj is one of the best and biggest banners of the country and I would certainly love to work with them. Who wouldn't?

Recently, you met with an accident during an action sequence for Drona. So, how are you now?
Oh yaa. I tore a muscle in the stomach while doing a wirework stunt. I didn't realise it that day. I realised it only the next day. I don't like to cancel shootings, so I managed with hot and cold therapy had a bandage wrapped around to avoid any more strain. It was a hectic schedule, and we had to complete a song sequence too. Being a professional, one has to do it.
Didn't you take proper training before getting accepting maar-dhaad movies?
Not really, I trained only for Gatka (a north Indian martial art form) and that too for a few days. After that, I didn't get enough time to do any training.
Apparently, you said that you wouldn't do another bold role after Aitraaz. Is Tarun Mansukhani's film an exception because Karan Johar is producing it?
Wait wait. It's not actually a bold film, but a romantic comedy. Dharma Productions doesn't make ‘that' kind of films. Mine is not a negative character either. It's a sweet fun comedy like Mujhse Shaadi
Karogi.
Reportedly Aishwarya
Rai Bachchan opted out of it since the character required some skin show and she's said to be uncomfortable with it.
Have you seen a Dharma Production's movie being bold? Even Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, which dealt with marital infidelity wasn't bold. I don't know the reasons why Aishwarya declined the film. Karan approached me for the movie; I loved the script and immediately agreed to do it. That's it.
Do you feel the need to plan and strategies your career now to consolidate your position and go further from here?
I've never planned my career. I have always left it to God. Somehow things have always fallen right for me. It's all destiny. I believe if it weren't for destiny, I wouldn't be here.
What's happening with Sahib Biwi aur Ghulam? Are you not doing it since you don't want to do offbeat films now?
I don't know what's happening. I loved the script and I even did a photo shoot for it. So the question of not wanting to do it just doesn't arise. Although I haven't signed it yet, I think PNC, the producers, are still working out the details.
Apparently, you had agreed to do Saroj Khan's directorial debut but now she's upset with you for backing out.
I had never confirmed to do Sarojji's film. I'm not aware about her being upset with me, but the character didn't work out for me. I would love to work with her sometime if all goes well.

Any regrets of having done a wrong film and missing out on a good one?
None, no regrets whatsoever. Every film of mine has been a stepping-stone for my career. Any movie I couldn't do for various reasons hasn't affected me.
Having signed a three-movie deal with UTV, you're perhaps the only actress to be involved in the projects to the extent of having a say in the choice of subject or director. That puts you in a more advantageous position.
I don't look at it as an advantageous position. It's more of a mutual agreement both the parties are working towards a common goal that of making good movies which can be appreciated by as many people as possible.
You've been in the industry for over four years now. Who would you say are your friends here?
I have always hung out with people I work with. But that doesn't mean we become friends. Friends are few, whom one can call up at three-four in the morning. None like that in the industry. I'm here to work, not to make friends. Yes, the people I work with become great acquaintances, colleagues, but not friends.
So does professional rivalry come in the way of becoming personal friends?
Nothing like that. There's no question of rivalry. Friends need not only be women, but they can also be men. So there are actors and directors also with whom I socialize, party, go out and all of that.
But a best friend?
None really. Friendship, to me, means a high level of trust and loyalty. I can count only five such friends, they are not from the film industry. Rest all are acquaintances and colleagues.
Don and Krrish sequels are being made. Do you see yourself featuring in them also?
Well, that's for the directors to decide.
