What about rumours of Salman not wanting her to work with Shahid? “Why should I or anyone have any problem with Shahid or any of my other co-stars? I think Shahid and Rajji want to sit and make some changes in the script, as it is similar to Shahid’s film Jab We Met. I have no problem working with Shahid,” said Katrina.

What does love mean to her? “It’s absolutely a beautiful emotion. I believe in it wholeheartedly. The ways of expressing love are very personal and individual,” she replied. Salman apparently is a very possessive lover. What’s her take on possessiveness in love? “There is no right or wrong way, or being over possessive or under possessive in love. Like I said, it’s an individual expression,” she reiterated.

But controversy dogs her progress in Bollywood. Katrina’s onscreen pairing with Akshay Kumar too in the past has invited speculation. How does she cope with all this undue attention? “I don’t think doing so many films with Akshay Kumar is an issue at all. Nobody has pointed this out to me. I am not aware of any rumors. As for signing films with him, well, I have signed all the films with the consent of those close to me and with whom I hang out. So nobody can stand up and say anything about Akshay and me. It’s sheer rubbish!”

Salman who is currently shooting for Boney Kapoor's Wanted Dead Or Alive and Subhash Ghai's Yuvraj is also a little disconcerted with all the gossips going around in media about his split up with long time girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Ask him to react to all those stories that insinuate that he's unhappy with Katrina Kaif signing a Rajkumar Santoshi film opposite Shahid Kapoor and the Akshay Kumar starrer Singh Is Kinng and he says, "I'm Salman Khan, an actor. I'm not a secretary who will decide which films an actor should or should not do." The actor also downplays news reports that he asked Santoshi to throw out Shahid from the Katrina starrer. "I've been here for 18 years and every now and then there have been incidents of younger actors trying to get mileage by latching on to my name. It doesn't bother me. We all know what happens to them," he says pointing to you-know-who.

But is it true that he has a problem with the length of Katrina's dress in the Ooncha Lamba Kad song of Welcome, which is currently on air? "As long as Katrina adheres to the Doordarshan guidelines which we are all supposed to follow then she can wear whatever she wants to," with this statement he signs off.

Lastly we talked to very close friend of the couple who doesn’t want to be named added to the story “Katrina and Salman are still a couple. He loves her a lot and they haven’t even been going through a rough patch let alone break up. Last when I spoke to her which was very recently they were still together and she didn’t tell me anything otherwise,” says the friend.

But what about the recent news that Salman wasn’t happy that she was signing films without his permission. “It is nothing like that. Katrina is not a small child. Earlier when she was new in the industry she did turn to Salman for advice but the final decision was always hers. And nothing has changed. It is still like that.”

Earlier this year there was a rumour that the star couple was going to head up the altar very soon. “Right now nothing has been decided. All of friends, his family and us have noticed a change for the better in him. Katrina has always been strong-minded and that is why she has been a calming and nice influence on Salman. His parents also like Katrina a lot and there is no reason for Salman wanting to break up with her or vice versa,” emphasizes the source.

He adds that contrary to what people might think Salman isn’t anti marriage at all. “Katrina is just beginning to settle into her career. And so she wants to wait a while before she decides to settle down. It is her decision to put marriage on hold right now!”

That settles all the dust surrounding the couple Salman Khan and his ladylove Katrina Kaif are still very much together.
