Ajay and Kajol may have been married for years but the two still find their hearts beating for each other. Both Ajay and Kajol, who have been doing the rounds of reality TV shows passionately promoting their forthcoming film U Me And Hum, say they hope to make couples rediscover the 'Hum' within themselves through their film.
Kajol headlines the growing list of our favorite stars, mostly because she is insanely hot and incredibly talented. We don't see much of her because she doesn't do too many films, being very picky with her roles. Luckily for us, her next film, U Me Aur Hum, is slated for release on April 11 and she has been stepping out to promote it. She stars in the film opposite her husband, who has also produced and directed the film.
At the launch of the latest edition of Hello magazine, Ajay Devgan was missing from the scene and it was wife Kajol who had to tackle the volleying questions from the media. As expected the media kept on taking Kajol’s views on Sahrukh’s latest item number for Rakesh Roshan’s Krazzy4.
“Definitely Shahrukh is good at whatever he does and it’s his presence that makes him look good with any actress he is paired with. I agree that people call me and Shahrukh an ideal couple but Ajay and I are a normal and realistic couple”, argues Kajol on being paired with
Shahrukh.
“Today cinema offers great variety and thus I’m sure that people can watch both Krazzy4 a comedy and our film which is a romantic flick.” She further states that her involvement in the production of U ME AUR HUM wasn’t much but since Ajay played director, she was involved to a certain extent.
The husband and wife team, who are appearing together on screen 8 years after Raju Chacha in 2000, becomes animated when asked to explain the rather strange title of the film, which marks Ajay's debut as a director.
While the ‘U' and 'Me' in the title are easy to understand and symbolize the individuality of the couple, 'Hum' symbolizes their togetherness and stresses the need for them to act as one every now and then.
Devgan also explains the tagline for the film - 'Sometimes the greatest journey is the distance between two people.'
When two people marry they tend to think they have covered the distance between themselves but "you never cover the distance. You just keep taking a step forward every day - through love, through fights, through understanding, through not understanding, through situations, through problems. It is a growth which keeps happening…"
"This film is not made with the intention of being a sermon about relationships. Nor is it made to prove my talent as a director," says Devgan. "It is a completely commercial and entertaining film. I am not trying to prove a point that I am a pseudo intellectual," he adds.
