In fact, Kareena Kapoor had planned to spend the Holi weekend in Delhi with Saif Ali Khan, who was there to promote his latest release ‘Race’. But instead of joining Saif to the main event, Bebo preferred to wait for him in his hotel room. Unfortunately, the function got delayed and by the time Saifu returned to hotel room, Bebo was fast asleep. Saif Ali Khan did not disturb her and went for a sound sleep himself.
But in the morning, Bebo got up and tried to wake Saif Ali Khan up so that he could accompany her to celebrate Holi. But Saif Ali Khan was in deep slumber and did not want to get up before afternoon that day of Holi and Kareena knew that by that time everything would be over. So the furious lady packed her bags and took a flight back to Mumbai on the same Holi day.
Since then, the Kapoor Babe has not been talking to Chhote Nawab and also not taking his calls. Sources say that Saif Ali Khan has already conceded the point and even apologized for his behavior but the sexy siren is in no mood to listen for the time being. However, the insiders point out that Saif-Kareena fight is not new and on earlier occasions too, they had been fighting each other. For instance, while shooting in Greece for Yashraj’s ‘Tashan’, the couple had a huge fight and Saif even returned to India, leaving Bebo alone. But later they kissed and made up.
The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Bebo is more depressed nowadays because of her parents -Randhir Kapoor and Babita Kapoor, who are not approving of her choice of Saif Ali Khan than anything else. Babita is especially against the alliance as she thinks that Saif Ali Khan at thirty-seven is a bit too old for Kareena, who is only twenty-seven. Saif Ali Khan’s previous marriage and divorce with Amrita Singh and his two children are making the matter worse for the couple. Babita thinks that Shahid Kapur was better choice for Bebo than Saif, but Kareena is adamant and this tussle is creating friction between them.
When we tried to ask the nawab himself about the rumors floating around his love he was quite forthright in his replies.
Saif Ali Khan loves responding to questions like, ‘Hi, handsome, how are you?’ “I would definitely respond to that one!” he laughs. “I am fine, doing really good. I was a bit nervous when I saw the crowd outside, but now I’m fine.” Saif was on a recent visit to Delhi, and the venue where he was present saw a large number of fans waiting to get a glimpse of him.
He’s not so cool about questions pertaining to a certain Miss Kapoor, but that’s not the only person he shares good chemistry with. His chemistry with SRK turned out to be quite entertaining at the recent Filmfare awards.
Laughing, he replies, “Oh yes, I knew that would happen. But we have gotten better since we’ve been doing it for some time now. And it is not just the sense of humor... we also understand each other very well. And that is very essential to get the comic timing right. Honestly, I think Shah Rukh and I enjoy each other’s timing. I think SRK writes most of the script of those pieces that we rattle off so seemingly effortlessly, himself. This time, I could not write much of the script because my thoughts where some place else.” And this is accompanied by a shy smile from the Hum Tum dude.
Aha. Would his thoughts be with someone special, by any chance – a girl called Bebo? “Well, that’s private,” he says, and smiles again. But since we are talking about her, did he find it tough to work with her in Tashan? “Initially, it was tough, because off screen, our equation had completely changed by then. But eventually, we became comfortable on-screen as well,” he says.
When probed further about Kareena’ s absence from Race premier Saif said that the actress did flew in later that evening and that he celebrated the evening with her over dinner. He informed that Kapoor was the first to see the film. “She doesn’t really need to show up for the cameras,” he said.
