A unit hand said, “Mallika is paired opposite Rahul Bose but more than Rahul she shares an extremely good rapport with Paresh Rawal. Whenever she comes on the set she says Salam, Huzur-E- Alam to Paresh. She is very jovial with Paresh Raval and both of them are usually seen chatting and playing pranks on each other.”
Director Sanjay Chhel corroborates “Paresh Raval is quite a no nonsense actor, when he is shooting. Sometimes he gets tensed if things don’t happen on time. But Mallika who is always fun loving and cheerful on the set, loves to take his case. She calls him Badshah-E-Alam. She loves to get into the skin of her character so whenever she comes on the set, she acts like
Anarkali.”
A unit hand adds that director Sanjay Chhel and Paresh Rawal talk in Gujrati and Mallika feels that when they talk in Gujrati they discuss her. However she too makes fun of both and all of them burst into laughter. “Yes it’s true. Paresh and I were talking about the weather and the hot temperature in Gujarat. When Mallika overheard us, she felt that we had called her hot. She burst into laughter when she came to know what we were actually talking about.” Chhel signs off.
Mallika Sherawat enjoys a challenge earlier she wooed the very stern and know for his attitude Nana Patekar for a role. Mallika was keen to play the role of Lavani dancer, which was played by veteran actress Sandhya in V Shantaram’s Marathi Film Pinjra. It is believed that the actress is right now convincing one of the best buddies of Bollywood Nana to make the remake of the same film in Hindi.
Mallika and Nana shared a fantastic onscreen chemistry in Anees Bazami’s Welcome. But very few know that their onscreen chemistry rocks because they have a very good off screen rapport too. Recently when Mallika was shooting at Filmistan Studio for Sanjay Chhel’s Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Aazam , she immediately went and dragged Nana to her set. Everyone from her co-star Rahul Bose, Paresh Raval and Director Sanjay Chhel were delighted by his presence. Nana gelled with everyone on the set. After all the fun, Nana and Mallika had some serious conversation over this film.
Mallika has always been in demand. Sometimes by the media, sometimes by older men from Parresh Rawal to Nana Patekar and Anil all are her big friends and now it's the men on her set.
Mallika was currently shooting for Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam when the schedule has been a long and tough one. After a long and grueling day, the director fired some spot boys for their slipshod work.
To the astonishment of one and all, Mallika stood up for the spot boys and asked Chhel, the director to take it easy. She said, “Please don't shout on the sets. It creates too much of unpleasantness and no work is done. So please calm yourself and talk to them properly."
There was a stunned silence. Sanchita, who is the production in charge of the film remarked, "I have never seen any actor stand up for these workers. It's a great feeling. I wish more and more actors would take up the cause for them. They are under paid and over worked, so a little bit of compassion helps their morale."
Since that day, all the workers are Mallika's biggest fans. They attend to her slightest whims and pamper her. Good going, Mallika. It’s nice to see someone stand up for the cine workers who contribute a lot to India's glitz and glamour.
