He also came in to fill Amitabh’s shoes in Kaun Banega Crorepati. Then there were also stories of the two delaying Ravi Chopra’s Bhoothnath since they did now want to come face to face. Now, Preity Zinta will be touring the United States, United Kingdom and Canada with Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai from mid July to perform live shows at various venues.

The sources from the Wizcraft International Entertainment Company say that the entire programme schedule has been reworked to suit the hectic work schedule of Preity Zinta everything had to be done keeping in mind her busy film and cricketing schedule.

Earlier, the sexy bombshell of bollywood, Bipasha Basu had refused to be a part of the Unforgettables as she wanted more money than what was being offered by the Wizcraft. The insiders say that the main grouse of Biapasha was that she was being paid less than Aishwarya Rai, who had been signed for a whopping Rs one crore per show. After ‘Race’, Bips thought that she deserved to be paid at par with Aishwarya by the organizers, but they thought otherwise which led to Bips withdrawing from the world tour.


Along with Preity another bollywood superstar joining Bachchans is Akshay Kumar who also got the facility of attending the tour at his own convenience and would not be present at every place where live stage shows are to be held. This concession to Khiladi Kumar was obviously an indirect recognition of his increasing clout with the overseas audiences after the success of films. With cricket and bollywood hogging the news headlines daily it’s but natural that every bollywood superstar is associated with one team or the other and taking this opportunity to settle their professional rivalries too. 

Preity Zinta, Ness Wadia and the stars of their Mohali IPL team are aware of this edge they enjoy. So as Preity and Ness go about deciding the promotions and logistics of their Kings XI Punjab, they are sure of one thing – they need no star presence. 

Uh, but don’t they already have enough in form of Preity? “I may be the glam quotient but we have enough players who are brands in themselves and need no endorsements. With players like Yuvi, Sree, Irfan and Brett, my work becomes simpler,” Preity says. 

So, they need no ambassador for their team, a la Akshay Kumar for Delhi Daredevils? “Like I said, my boys don’t need a brand endorsement. This game is not about which Bollywood celebrity is backing which team. I am here because of the passion for sports,” is Preity’s answer.
