The grapevine has it that King Khan attended the premiere not for the love of Bachchans but to prevent the grouping of Salman Khan and Bachchans against him in Bollywood. Everybody knows that a combination of Salman Khan and the Bachchans could emerge, as the most powerful combination of bollywood and that would have been detrimental for the power and prestige of King Khan.

Shah Rukh knew things were moving in that direction after Salman went out of his way to meet Abhishek in his van at a studio. Sallubhai had even promised a painting of ‘Drona’, which he wanted to gift juniour Bachchan. There were reports that Abhishek Bachchan was very touched with the kind gesture of Salman. Keeping all these facts in mind, Shah Rukh Khan knew that he would have to act very fast on the issue otherwise the equation in bollywood would go against him forever. Shah Rukh Khan, the shrewd strategist that he is, lost no time and decided to attend the premiere with whole family and friends.

Sensing his great chance to isolate Salman Khan from the Bachchans, Shah Rukh Khan not only attended the function with wife Gauri, but also roped in his friends and camp followers like Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Shirish Kunder, Sajid Khan etc.

The battle lines are clearly drawn. When it comes to the Bachchans, Shah Rukh Khan clearly has an edge; Salman Khan and his family were not invited to the Drona premiere at all. One could argue that it was deliberate that Salman is away in London and wouldn't have made it anyway. But the snub isn't missed. The invite was not even extended to his family.

Reasons for the miss is believed to be very different from what we have been reading in the media sources close to Bachchans claim that during the Khan Vs Khan squabble, the Sallu camp went out of their way to spread stories that SRK had made an inappropriate comment about the Bachchan bahu. But when Amitabh personally called SRK to invite him to the premiere, he made it apparent that the family didn't buy the rumours. The source continues, "Also, Salman isn't exactly a chum of Drona heroine, Priyanka Chopra either," says a source close to the Bachchans.

Shah Rukh threw an impromptu Eid party and was heard inviting all his friends and Bachchans at the premiere for a get-together in his home.

We tried to get clear picture from the Badshah of Bollywood himself. Shah Rukh has not spoken publicly about his tiff with Salman yet, but the actor is not over it yet. He finally breaks his silence about Salman.

How was your Eid celebrations? 
I keep my Eid celebrations simple because ours is a multi-cultural family. I like my children to pray on this day. The effort is to let my children know the religion and what it teaches you. My parents are no more, so I pray for them too.

Have you given or received Idi from anyone?
I am the eldest in the family, so I give Idi. The time has gone when I used to get Idi but I still wish I were the youngest in the family. I am now a father, so I have to take care of my family and friends.

You and your family were present at the Drona premiere. How did you like the film?
I think the film will surely appeal to kids. The film has some new flavours, so it might take some time for people to understand. But Priyanka & Abhishek have worked very hard. On a personal level, I am very fond of fantasy films that have a lot of special effects. My kids and I liked the film a lot.
