Inside reports suggest that Viveik is trying extremely hard to gain a foothold in Bollywood and hence has been bonding well with SRK over the last few months all thanks to his friend Karan Johar (SRK’S best friend). Vivek now boasts of a prestigious unnamed project by Karan Johar, that also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Vivek is playing his cards safe he has all praises for his co-actors. Talking about Kareena, the actor said, “Kareena comes unprepared to the sets and believes in no rehearsals. Moreover she does not need many re–takes to deliver an amazing performance.”

“Though Vivek and SRK have been bonding over the last few months especially due to Karan Johar that still doesn’t explain Vivek`s presence at such an exclusive party! There were very close friends present and Vivek is not doing any ads, film or shows with Shahrukh. Their sudden bonding raised lots of eyebrows at the party as people kept wondering about the connection," the source added.

Unperturbed by Vivek's reputation and his image in the industry, Karan says he has immense faith in the actor and is sure he will deliver. On selecting Oberoi for the role, he says, "I have chosen Vivek because he suits the role. It's a good role and he fits the script's demands. I never cast actors based on their images or perceptions of the industry or the media. Vivek is a good actor and I am confident in his ability to deliver."

When asked if the actor's not so great run at the box-office affects him, he adds, "Not at all. However, I can say that Vivek will have to give 300 per cent. It's a role that does justice to him. I am sure he will take it seriously." Karan added.

Recently, in an interview, Salman spoke about John's exposure in Dostana being a bit too much and not suited for family audiences. Reacting to Salman's comments, Karan says, "I don't want to say anything on this. Salman is a senior in the industry. However, I would like to add that John's look is very aesthetically done and the film has been accepted worldwide."

Well that brings us back to Vivek's manipulating ways though he is wooing SRK big time and gaining roles for himself he still dreams of getting Salman’s pardon and want’s to be in good books of hot-headed Khan. Vivek has been desperately trying to reconcile with Salman but to no avail. VO's latest attempt saw him unsuccessfully pursuing Sallu to attend his sister Meghna's wedding.

An industry source says, "Vivek tried every gimmick in the book to win Sallu over for four years since their spat. From sending him feelers through text messages to publicly apologising to the actor at an award show, Vivek has done it all. Though many believe they're all publicity stunts, the actor has maintained he wants to express his regrets and move on in life."

The source adds, "The latest so-called stunt was when Vivek thought he could call Sallu for his sister's wedding. Although the wedding was made out to be a very personal event, a select bunch from the industry was also invited.”
