Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor are going strong even now; though people claim that there relationship is on shaky grounds. The two belonged to the same group of friends and knew each other before Bollywood happened to either. It was during the making of 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' that Deepika and Ranbir fell in love. Obviously it's at the Filmfare Awards that Ranbir proposed to Deepika, and she graciously accepted.

Deepika and Ranbir started dating at the initial stage of their career. They are young, smart and dynamic couple, wherever they go, they catch the eyes of all. They are touted as one of the sizzling love couple of the tinsel Ville that makes news both for their romance and spat. Of lately rumours were that Ran-Deep relationship was going through tough weather. Often there were news about dent in their relationship and that Deepika very frequently indulges in fighting with Ranbir. Few days back there was a Buzz that Deepika has dumped Ranbir Kapoor and is dating a new guy. She was spotted with a mystery man in an uptown multiplex watching 'Ghajini'.
After her break-up with Nihal Pandya and Yuvraaj Singh, Deepika was going strong with Ranbir Kapoor and was quoted saying that "she wants to be Mrs Kapoor in 4 years". Although Ranbir’s mom Neetu was quoted as saying that, "Deepika is just another girlfriend for Ranbir". But the rumour’s of Deepika-Ranbir’s spilt up has finally come to a rest when Ranbir attended Deepika’s birthday party and as a birthday gift he promised Deepika to give up smoking. Deepika never likes Ranbir’s smoking habit but she never complained. But Ranbir could realize that Deepika feels uncomfortable when he smokes around her. Finally he has decided to make his beau happy on the occasion of her birthday by throwing away the butt.

When quizzed about being together, Deepika says, "I don't like talking about my personal life. All I will say is that Ranbir keeps me very happy and secure." Deepika’s birthday was a low-key affair. She spent the entire day with her parents and boyfriend Ranbir. She went to Siddhivinayak Temple in the morning and had a romantic candle night dinner with Ranbir in the evening.
Deepika rubbished the press reports of strains in her relationship and says a marriage is very much on the cards. Deepkia also confirmed that she has become good friends with Ranbir's former girlfriend, Sonam Kapoor. Asked if she and Ranbir were facing problems, Deepika said "Rubbish! I celebrated my birthday with him yesterday. I'm very happy and secure in my relationship with him."
So was a marriage on the cards? "Of course!" she responded. "We have discussed it. But right now both of us need to focus on our careers. What tomorrow holds for us I do not know. I'm committed to my career till the end of 2010."

When asked about her big time bonding with Sonam Kapoor Deepika cleared the air "There wasn't any fight for us to patch up. Our films released at the same time. Today we have become close friends. We hook up, go to the spa, watch films and generally party together. She is a warm and sweet girl."
Deepika, who has a perfect score card in Bollywood, with two films both of hit, will be next seen in Nikhil Advani's Chandni Chowk to China opposite Akshay Kumar. The film is an action-comedy about a lowly Mumbai cook who is mistaken for a martial arts hero. Deepika plays a dual role in it as two contrasting personalities: Meow, a sexy and brash girl, and Sakhi, who is very tacky with over-the-top makeup. The film is due for release on January 16.
