Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan hailed from a filmy background. Being a son of legendry stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, acting runs in his blood. Where film industry is run by glamour and style, Abhi devoid of all those woo elements created a niche for him. He has seen both flops and hits in short span of his filmy career. Being a son of two superstar, people resemble his acting with both but Abhi knows well whom does he resemble.
"Dad is an inspiration to the whole world. His creativity, dedication is legendary. He is a great source of inspiration. However, my acting style is more like my mother. I would like to believe that I have the best of both," the junior Bachchan told.

Abhishek is pining high hopes for Delhi 6, which is slated to release soon. He finds himself fortunate to work with top-notch veteran actors like Waheeda Rahman, Rishi Kapoor, Om Puri. He quipped, "Where will any actor get the opportunity to stand in the same frame as all these great actors we had in this film. It was an awesome experience."

Abhishek is looking forward to a fruitful year ahead. “I have some great releases lined up. Well, at least I think they’re great. I have to work extra hard to make sure the audience feels the same way too. Both films are very special and important to me. So I hope they turn out the way I’ve imagined.”

After several attempts, Abhishek Bachchan is delighted to finally work with good friend Rakyesh Mehra in Delhi-6. Speaking about Delhi 6 and working with Sonam and Rakesh Omprakash, he says, "I am nervous about Delhi 6. I always get nervous on Fridays when my film releases. We put in so much hard work for a film, that’s why Fridays make me so nervous. But Delhi 6 is a good film and made very well. It is a very realistic film and its music is really appealing. As an actor I hope to meet the expectations of people. Rakeysh Mehra and I had wanted to work with each other for very long. He met every expectation of mine. It was wonderful working with him. Sonam (Kapoor) is a wonderful person and a very promising actress. It was a pleasure having her on the sets. She is really hardworking."

He is eagerly looking forward to Delhi 6 as its success will turn around his career and establish him as a hit solo actor.

Abhishek and Aishwarya is an eye-catching couple and they are leading a blissful life together. Undoubtedly, Abhi is a good and loving husband who understands his wife better and always appreciates her achievement. They compliment each other’s work and this what makes their relationship more beautiful and peaceful. Abhishek claims that he is a very good husband. He states, "I don’t think I have changed after marriage. I am still the same guy I used to be. I guess I am a good husband. Aishwarya is extremely down-to-earth. She is very humane."

Experts from the interview:
Rakyesh Mehra's stalled film, Samjhauta Express was supposed to be your debut film. Now you are working with him in Delhi-6.
I just hope that this is the beginning of a new journey. After completing Delhi-6, I told Rakyesh that it is a great sense of accomplishment.

Rakyesh has said that he has lot of Samjhauta Express in Delhi-6.
You know the most amusing thing is that he still refers to me as Hasan who was the character in Samjhauta Express. In Delhi-6, I think several scenes of the relationship between my character Roshan and Sonam's character Bittu are to a large extent influenced by Samjhauta Express.

Earlier, when you had opted out of Delhi-6, Rakyesh had approached several other actors. How were things finalised again?
Rakyesh always sends me all his scripts so that I can read them. He sent me the script of Delhi-6 and asked me if I would like to do the film and I remember telling him that only I can do it. Rakeysh wanted to shoot Delhi-6 during the winter season and I was busy with Guru, he asked me if he can go ahead with any other actor. I told him that he is my friend and that we have waited a long time to work together so why not wait a little longer till we can work out the dates. After a few months, Rakeysh told me that he has decided that only I can do Delhi-6. This time, I had the required dates and we started the film.

Many think that you have not got enough credit for Dostana while John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra walked away with all the accolades. Do you agree?
You can't take away a film from an actor. Six years down the line when I write my CV, Dostana will be my film as well.

You have closely seen success as well as failure. How do you feel now when a Friday is approaching with your film up for release?
Success is very important especially in this industry where one's fate is decided every Friday. I do get anxious and want my films to do well.

There is a perception that your decision to work with your friends has gone against you.
I starred in Bunty Aur Babli directed by Shaad Ali who is a dear friend, then Sarkar with Ramu (Gopal Varma), again a dear friend. Ten days after Sarkar released, I had Dus, which was a huge hit and again with a friend, Anubhav Sinha. Then I had Bluffmaster with one of my closest friend Rohan Sippy, then Dhoom-2 came which was with Sanjay Gadhvi and then Mani Ratnam's Guru. These films were back-toback successes. Last year also I did three films of which two were hits. Sarkar Raj worked but Drona didn't and then Dostana worked.

You are doing quite a few films with Aishwarya.
Don't we look good together? Guru was one of my biggest hits, then Dhoom-2 although we were not a pair was a hit film and then Sarkar Raj too was a huge hit. Now I hope we repeat the success in Mani's film.

We believe that you travelled by train during the shoot of Mani's film?
Yes, I was shooting in a place called Orcha in MP. The only way to reach there was travel overnight in a train. It was nice to get in the train, sleep at the night and get up next morning in Orcha. I loved travelling in the train.

Tell us about the remake of Abhimaan.
Yes that's with dear friend Rajeev Menon. It's not a remake but is largely inspired from Abhimaan. Rajeev narrated the idea to us and we liked it. He is currently developing the script and hopefully once it's ready we will go on the floors.

What are your forthcoming films?
I have Rohan Sippy's and Abhinav Deo's film. That's it.

That's it?
My god! How much you want me to work?

I want to talk about a movie which is the movie of the moment - Slumdog Millionaire. As you know there is a lively debate going on in India about the way India has been depicted in the film, so where do you stand in that debate?
I don't stand anywhere; it is a film let people do what they want. I don't understand why people have taken it so aggressively. It is a nice film it is doing very well. We wish it all the best, I am very excited about this film because it is giving recognition to a lot of Indian talent; especially A. R. Rahman who's talent is being recognised and is getting its due credit on the global platform.
