Why did you accept season two?
Surprisingly, the season one "actually" clicked! That's why the Sony guys called me back. In season one it was about the money - but slowly I started enjoying interacting with fans. The people at Sony identified this and managed to rope me in this time at a lower price. But if fans want I will keep doing more seasons of Dus Ka Dum. I think 100 per cent of India loves me.
But we heard you increased your price?
Looks like you guys haven't heard about recession. Who will play me more? I have in fact taken a pay cut but only a small one.
Kareena, Karisma, Mallika…who are the celebs guests this time?
I haven't been in town so even I am finding out these names from you guys through the papers. Anyways, this time I wont be contacting any of my friends. The production house is taking care of the special guests. If Bebo and Lolo are coming, it's very sweet of them.
Who is on your wish list?
I
want Sunny, Sanju Baba and Dharamji to come. And among the women without doubt it has to be Madhuri and Sridevi. But as I said, it's not in my hands.
Is SRK invited?
If the channel can manage to get him, Shah Rukh Khan is more than welcome. It'll be his good fortune if he comes. But why doesn't anyone mention Aamir Khan with the both of us? Even he has shown a huge leap in his box office record. His episode was my favourite during season one.
SRK's Paanchvi Pass tanked and you are back on season two. Feeling victorious?
It's sad that his show didn't do well. I really wish it had worked. I feel everyone must be successful and get work. The more this industry grows; it's better for us and for the media.
Akshay Kumar's show going on air soon any message for him?
He's a good guy. I said this even the last time that 'I wish him all the best'. I am not competing with anyone's TRPs as I don't believe in lists.
You are being linked to a lot of new women these days…
It's again you guys who are planting these stories. I think the media sits and prays that I go and bash up someone or break up with someone. Who are these 'sources close to the star's family' that you guys refer to? They seem to be even closer than the seven family members who I live with.
What's with the new building that is reportedly in Aishwarya's neighbourhood?
I have finally managed to buy a house and you guys are making so much noise about it. And it's not a building; it's just two flats. When the market was good I thought of making some wise investments. Of course I didn't know recession would hit soon after.
Has the show made you more patient and less temperamental?
See what you see on Dus Ka Dum is ME...The way I am. Nothing is fake or rehearsed. Now what appeals to the people I have no idea. And I don't even want to know. Because the day you identify what people like about you, one tends to overplay it.
You campaigned for everybody, but didn't come to vote…
I only campaigned for friends. I didn't come to vote as I was shooting in London for Veer and flying out for one day would have meant huge losses for my producer. If I was in Mumbai on that holiday, it's wrong for me not to vote. But for God's sake I was working outside. If that's so much of a problem, I think the Government should make voting compulsory.
But other stars took time out and came to vote…
Voting just for the sake of showing off to the media is not my idea of doing things. Shah Rukh and Aamir make much more money than I do and perhaps had more free time on them. I am not as rich as them to fly down just for one day.
Finally fans will continue asking you about your marriage. Have you thought about any new responses?
I have to sit down and think about all sorts of innovative answers to that question.
