Sources close to Aditya Chopra reveal that it was his vision that Rani should change her look to a more glamorous one in ‘Dil Bole Hadippa.’ Aditya wanted Rani to look the same way as Bipasha looked (in bikini, of course) in his earlier flick ‘Dhoom’ and Kareena Kapoor (bikini look) in ‘Tashan.’ 

Rani Mukerji, who has been part of Yashraj camp for a long time, could not ignore Aditya Chopra’s wish and went for a complete makeover in this cricket centric flick. Insiders reveal that Rani Mukerji worked out regularly to gain that fabulous mid riff shown in the promos of the flick. Presently, the beautiful lass is looking sizzling hot and has dared to bare in this Yashraj flick.

Another theory doing the rounds in the industry is that Rani Mukerji agreed to sexy makeover because she wanted to prove that she could reinvent herself in accordance with the changing times and demand of the role in a flick. In fact, the producers had stopped her approaching for sexy, glamorous roles and went to her only when a serious role or some crying on the screen was involved. All this forced Rani to reinvent herself with ‘Dill Bole Hadippa.’

The buzz in the industry is that Rani Mukerji’s glam makeover has also something to do with her intention of doing outside flicks and not being totally dependant on Yashraj banner. She also wants to dispel the impression that Rani Mukerji can marry anytime and so leave the producers in the middle of their projects.

Last but not the least, Rani Mukerji is said to have expressed her dismay over being speculated again and again about her marrying Aditya Chopra for the last three years. In fact, the gorgeous lady goes on to make fun of the talk of her getting married to Aditya by saying that you cannot marry the same person again and again.

Rani says that rumours about her getting married have started affecting her career. “These rumours have been going on for three years and they have started now affecting my career. Lot of filmmakers who approach me for roles start by asking whether I am getting married. They have apprehensions whether I can commit myself to their project." 

The numero uno actress also denied all the rumours about her leaving her posh Juhu bungalow because it had brought her ill luck and had moved back to her old flat at Andheri. "I have made the new house for my family from my hard work, sweat and blood. My house is my temple and how can I run away from it. I am being made to look like an insecure person which I am not," Rani said.

The actress said the baseless stories about her are getting stretched too much. "I can't get married to one man for the last three years or to different men," she said about her alleged link ups including the rumour about her marriage to filmmaker Aditya Chopra. "I am the only daughter of my parents. When I get married, it will be announced publicly and will take place with pomp," Rani said referring to the story that she has secretly married to Chopra.

The actress said instead of wasting time on clarifying bizarre rumours, she would rather concentrate on her films, work hard and make her fans happy. The actress also said she has not worn a bikini in Dil Bole Haddipa. "Bikini is a very strong word. I have just worn a bikini top with salwar. When you lose weight and tone your body, people want to dress you up in a different way and there is no harm in trying it, "she said.

Rani said the ultra glam look was for the music video of the film. "In the film, I could not take liberties because the glam look would not go well with the character I play. But in the music videos, I could be portrayed differently," she said. 

When asked about criticism that she had lost her numero uno status, Rani said number games do not affect actors. "The number games are for those who believe in it. The roles that I get make me the actor I am. Getting challenging roles is the best part of being in any stage of your career. I am trying to reinvent myself as an actor and as a looker," she said. 

When asked about her future projects, Rani said she couldn’t work in any random film. "I am waiting for a great offer. I want to work with Vishal Bharadwaj, Imitiaz Ali, Anurag Basu. But, they have to come up with something which I would like to do," she added.

‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ revolves around the characters of Rani Mukerji and Shahid Kapur. Rani comes from a small town with dreams of playing cricket and gets makeover as a boy to make it easy. Shahid Kapur, whose recent flick ‘Kaminey’ proved to be a money spinner at the box office, plays lead opposite Rani in the flick.
