Bollywood seems to be going neck to neck with Hollywood. The film has been much talked about for Saif and Kareena’s steamy scenes and the first look has been a proof of this. The film is a romantic story against the backdrop of terrorism, which is directed by the debutant director Rensil D'silva. The movie also stars Om Puri, Vivek Oberoi, Diya Mirza, and Kiron Kher and will be released on November 27, 2009.
The latest news is that the real life lovers playing couple in Karan Johar’s venture has given some sizzling scenes for the film. Saif plays an undercover terrorist and Kareena plays his wife. The bedroom scene between Saif and Bebo has turned out to be so very hot that the director is worried it may attract the audience just to see Saif and Kareena in bed. Rensil reported in a media recently “A section of the audience might decide to see the film only to see the real-life couple making love on screen. It would be tragic.”

A source present on the sets says that Saif and Kareena were quite comfortable doing the scene which is very crucial to the film and is expected to break all the previous records by being the longest on-screen kiss.

With Kurbaan, Kareena proves that she is the most versatile actress around. The subjects of Kambakkht Ishq and Kurbaan are as diverse as chalk and cheese and Kareena has done justice to both. Her role in Kurbaan is very strong and Kareena has really worked hard on her performances, as well as the look in the film. It may also be known that the actress has always maintained a fine balance between the roles she does. If on one hand we had Jab We Met, there was also the hardcore Omkara.

Apparently Bebo is more excited because she has been paired opposite Saif Ali Khan in the movie. Kurbaan is a politically relevant film about international terrorism. It is after a long time that Kareena will be seen in an absolutely different role. The film shows the difference between fundamental terrorist and modern Islam. It makes a comment on people who kill other people; people who don’t belong to any god. It’s a very entertaining thriller with some wonderful Sufi music.

Kareena says that "Kurbaan" has given her the opportunity to sink her teeth into one of the best roles in her career. "I am so confident that in 'Kurbaan', audiences will take to my character in a big way," said Kareena, who looks forward to playing a variety of roles across different genres of films. "Especially after 'Kambakkht Ishq', they would see a different me in Kurbaan," Kareena added.

Bebo has played a prostitute, a bubbly girl-next-door and the ultimate glamour queen in her almost decade-long career but she says, "The girl's role is very strong in 'Kurbaan' and I have worked really hard on my performance. I'm expecting a lot from the film," said the actress, who has won critical acclaim for her performance in "Dev" and "Omkara".

The actress says she is once again expecting accolades from critics for her performance in the film. "Well frankly, this is one film where I am expecting both box-office success and huge critical acclaim. The film is extremely well made and, to add to that, quite topical," she said confidently.

For Kareena, 2009 would be an eventful year, as it would also see the release of Rajkumar Hirani's "3 Idiots", where she is paired opposite Aamir Khan, and debutant director Prem R. Soni's "Main Aur Mrs. Khanna" with Salman Khan.

After being in the industry for close to a decade, doesn't she aspire for more awards? "See, ever since I began my career, I have always maintained that I want to be a star actress. I should give the kind of confidence to filmmakers that I can carry off any role confidently. Whether it is a Geet ('Jab We Met') or a Dolly ('Omkara'), Simrita ('Kambakkht Ishq') or the character I play in 'Kurbaan' - I am mixing it up all.”

"For me, work is like a passion and when I do a film, I don't really think of commercial gains or awards. What is most important for me is to be engaged in some quality stuff. I sign a film because I like to enact the character that I have been offered. If box office success and awards come then, well, it's great," she said.
