Soon after reports that Katrina had agreed to be part of a film which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, comes news that she has opted out of the Anurag Basu film. Only solo-heroine films for Katrina Kaif - at least for now. That's what the actress has decided after a string of successes from Namaste London to Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

But the more immediate reason for Katrina could be that she has finally acquired the rights to produce the remake of a French film - she's been after it for almost a year now and wants to immediately allot time for this pet project.

Having signed Dostana 2 and Zoya Akhtar's next, besides Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan (for which she's shooting at the moment), the only way she could accommodate this remake was to refuse any other projects this year.

Katrina doesn't deny she has decided to do only solo-heroine films. "I am not saying I won't do films with other leading ladies, but for now, I'm happy in the space I am. Why should I unnecessarily rock the boat? And yes, I am finally about to lock the deal to produce my film. It's a fabulous role and I've been angling for the remake rights for quite some time. I'd like to get down to it as soon as possible."

The remake of the French film will feature Katrina as a scheming gold-digger. She has apparently been pining to play a grey role for some time now.

The two actresses are not on good terms with each other, even though they pretend to get along fine. The buzz started when Priyanka was supposed to do the closing act of an awards show, but Katrina insisted that she be allowed to close the act. Katrina also replaced Priyanka in Karan Johar’s Dostana sequel. Even though Priyanka claims that her character in the movie had reached a dead end, industry people are not so convinced.

Rumour mills suggest that the Katrina and the very handsome Ranbir are much in love, even though they constantly keep denying it. Since Anurag Basu ’Khamoshi’ was to star Katrina and freshly single Ranbir people were eagerly waiting to see real life sparks flowing between these much talked about couple.

Priyanka’s entry played spoil sport for the cosy couple who wants to keep their relationship under wraps, Chopra will also be playing an important role in the movie and thus the two hot stars might not get the golden chance to get close and personal on the sets. However insiders in the industry believe that brilliant performer like Priyanka might steal the show from sexy Katrina.

Meanwhile Priyanka has already given her dates to Don 2 with Farhan Akhtar and Shah Rukh Khan and is currently she and Anurag are trying to adjust their respective dates so that they can work together in this much awaited film.
