On Priyanka Chopra
I really like Priyanka, she’s one of my favourite co-stars and she’s brilliant. I’m very fond of her personally also.
On making his own decisions
I’ve made a lot of mistakes but I’ve got a few things right. I’m really fortunate to be in this position. It’s a great time to be in films. The horizons are opening. Today the film industry is like an open field. You can’t predict how a film will do, it doesn’t matter if you have a big star or not.
On his supposed reunion with Priyanka Chopra
I am at my wit’s end about the rumours linking me with Priyanka Chopra. I didn’t start them so don’t ask me where and how these rumours keep coming back from. Just because Priyanka and I stay in the same building, people keep making assumptions. There are so many other girls in the same building. Maybe I should just change my home address. I don’t enjoy being written about in connection with the women I am seen with.
On his Mausam costar Sonam Kapoor
That’s the story of my career. I’ve been romancing a new heroine in every film for six years and each time there’s a link-up. The rumours may not start this time because Sonam and I are working in my dad’s film. This pairing should be interesting.
On working with Sooraj Barjatya again
I’m dying to work with him again, and I want him to know I’m waiting for him to call me.
On mother Neelima Azim's film project
As far as my mother is concerned, yes she is making a film and no I’m not part of it. It’s not necessary that my entire family should cast me in their films. She never asked me to be part of her film. I think that’s wonderful of her; she wanted to do a film on her own. As her son I’m always there. Hum saath-saath hain (We’re all together).
On father Pankaj Kapur's Mausam
I'm getting into my dad's film. I'll of course accept another film if something truly exceptional comes along. Otherwise nothing until dad's film finishes. As an actor I'd consider myself lucky if I get one good script a year. Hit films don't necessarily mean good films. I think it's very important for me to work with good scripts and good directors. We did a few workshops. I spent 4-5 days discussing acting with Dad. At the moment I'm the spotboy-cum-assistant-cum-odd job boy. At the same time I've also started a little bit of work with my Dad on the script. There's so much to do. Yeh to ghar ki picture hai. I'm responsible for everything. I'm really enjoying this process. In the one year that I'll be on Mausam, I'll get to learn a lot from Dad.
