Recently she proved her star power when she walked the ramp after so many years for designer Manish Malhotra. Aishwarya looked absolutely stunning in a white voluminous lehenga with heavy high eye makeup. Aishwarya walked with ease and made sure she made her man feel special by constantly gazing at him and blowing kisses from the ramp.
When it comes to films, Ash has her plate full with the best directors and top actors Vipul Shah’s ‘Action Replayy’ with Akshay, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’ with Hrithik and is also rumoured to be approached by ‘Rock On’ director Abhishek Kapoor for a film based on author Chetan Bhagat’s ‘Three Mistakes of my life’. Delving further on her next release, Guzaarish, "We aren't going into the glamour zone at all in Guzaarish. Sanjay was so excited when he found the right script for us to work together. It's a very real and intense drama. I respect filmmakers like Sanjay Bhansali, Mani Ratnam and Shankar who make the films because they have to. Even in the family that I have married into, such belief and faith in the work that we do is predominant. Both Ma (Jaya Bachchan) and Pa (Amitabh Bachchan) have always gone into their every project with complete conviction. I follow that faith."
Talking about her hot pairing with Greek god Hrithik she reveals "We came together as a pair really late in our careers after refusing a series of projects. In fact soon after Hum Dil we were offered Mission Kashmir but I couldn't fit it into my schedule. Then we were almost about to do Krrish, but even that didn't materialize at the last moment eventually we acted together in Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa-Akbar. I think Hrithik and me are likeminded people much focused and very passionate about our work. The two films that we have done together so far were poles apart and now Sanjay's film will take us into a totally different territory"
On her experience of working simultaneously with two of the most demanding directors of Indian cinema Mani Ratnam and Sanjay Leela Bhansali with extremely diverse working styles, but she seems to be the last one to complain "I consider myself blessed to have repeatedly worked with Mani Ratnam and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, especially because they have always taken my acting abilities seriously. What Sanjay and I share is very special. We have evolved together from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, growing as individuals and artistes. We are both very similar totally driven and passionate! Both of us were very sure that whenever we would team together after Hum Dil.. and Devdas it would be for something that would take us to another zone of creative high."
After doing high budget films - “Jodhaa Akbar”, “Ravan” and now “Robot”, would she like to do a small budgets film? “Firstly, I don’t say yes to the movie for their budgets; so that’s not really my criteria. My criteria is the director I am working with, the film, the character, and what I can give to my audience and hopefully a different Aishwarya each time,” said the ravishing actress.
Indeed, films may rise or fall and projects may sink or swim, but for an actress on a forever creative ascent in her craft, making movie magic is a journey that's only fueled further by the odds in the flow.
