Insiders reveal that Gauri snubbed Priyanka Chopra by snatching her ‘Agneepath’ co-star Hrithik Roshan, when he was having a conversation with the actress at the party. Those present at the party reveal that Hrithik had just entered the party and was exchanging pleasantries with Priyanka. But, Gauri Khan did not like this and interrupted the conversation and took Hrithik away on the pretext of introducing him to other guests present at the Eid party.
The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Gauri and her close friends have never liked Priyanka for her closeness with Shah Rukh Khan. Be it IPL matches or some social function or even a party at Mannat, Priyanka always tends to be present around King Khan and this irritates Gauri to no end.
The issue spiraled to the extent that Mehr Jesia, one of Gauri Khan’s closest friends and actor Arjun Rampal’s better half, directly questioned Shah Rukh Khan about the reason of inviting Priyanka Chopra when nobody was fond of her at the party.
Insiders from Mannat reveal that King Khan was taken aback by this question and asked Mehr to resolve the issue with Priyanka if she had any problems and not question him over the invitation. In fact, Shah Rukh told Mehr that Priyanka was a dear friend, just like others and hence had been invited to the Eid party. Fortunately, when this drama was unfolding, most of the celebrity guests had already left Mannat and so this did not snowball into a major issue. However, while SRK stood by Priyanka during this confrontation, it seems he was unaware of his Don 2 co-actor being snubbed by wife Gauri who is know for her hospitality as a host.
Interestingly, this is not the first time SRK has supported Priyanka. Years ago, when she was going through legal hurdles posed by ex business manager Prakash Jaju, she is said to have sought SRK’s help during the Temptation tour. While no one has yet cast any romantic aspersions on their friendship, it seems that King Khan's soft corner for Piggy Chops will set the tongues wagging.
Another theory doing the rounds in the industry also views this closeness between King Khan and Piggy Chops due to Salman Khan’s antagonistic relationship with both. Though, Sallubhai gave a hit film with Priyanka in ‘Mujhse Shadi Karogi’, their relationship has never been close. Perhaps, King Khan is giving georgeous Priyanka protection from the other ‘Dabangg’ Khan of bollywood.
