Everyone has an opinion on Ranbir Kapoor. But one opinion is unanimous—that he is the hottest star today. Be it the B-town celebrities, who promptly name him as the most promising actor of the future, or trade pundits who label him as the most saleable actor, or filmmakers who regard him as the most desirable for female fans. A phenomenon called Ranbir Kapoor has certainly swept the industry and the film audience off their feet. So what is it about the young Kapoor which has put him on the top of the popularity charts, and on the wish-list of every filmmaker?
On his part, Kapoor, who has inherited a rich legacy, thanks to his parents has always credited his performances to his love for the craft. “I have grown up on films, they are something I eat, sleep and breathe. I love the process of acting.”

Ranbir Kapoor has no qualms leading the life of a "Rockstar". Ranbir who has been making headlines for his various link-ups, says he enjoys the casanova tag, but wishes his life was actually as "exaggerated" as they make it out to be. "Initially it was embarrassing. Now, it's okay. I enjoy it sometimes. Not everything written is a lie though. Eighty per cent of it is the truth, the exaggerated version, of course. They make my life out to be more glamorous than it actually is. On the contrary, I lead a very simple life. I wake up, brush my teeth, go to work and come back home," says Ranbir.
So, is the actor currently seeing someone or is he single? "Yes I am single, I'm not married and I love women. I'm very heterosexual, so dating women is something I'm not ashamed of. But my love life is not as exciting as it is reported to be."
Ranbir confirms the rumors that he cheated on his then girlfriend Deepika Padukone with his Rajneeti co-star Katrina Kaif , "Yes, I have, out of immaturity, out of inexperience, out of taking advantage of certain temptations, out of callousness. You realize it now, when you grow up and you value it more why be in a relationship, why be committed to someone when you cannot be committed? I've realized that now. That's why I don't want to jump into a relationship with anybody because ... unless you have a special bond, a special equation with somebody, somebody who you can be committed to, somebody who can trust you, who you can respect, there's no point."
"Infidelity is the deal breaker. Once it comes in, respect goes away, trust goes away and these are the pillars of a relationship you can't f*** around with it," Ranbir added.
But did this charming lover-boy have his heart broken? "Of course, everyone has. The pain is however, not as melodramatic as it is in the movies. " says the 28-year old Kapoor lad.
The actor, who was also linked to his "Rockstar" co-star Nargis Fakhri, can't stop raving about her. “I can say this with a lot of confidence please don’t take this in a wrong way but she is by far the best actor I have worked with (male, female everyone included). She came into this film without any baggage, any backdrop of acting, without knowing the language; she was not that much interested in doing Hindi films. But then, she worked so hard, she was so dedicated. She used to work for six hours a day on her Hindi. I can say she is one actor who will take the industry by storm with her dedication, talent and passion.”
Currently, Ranbir is busy shooting for "Barfi" starring Priyanka Chopra and South star Ileana, who will be making her B-Town debut with this flick. When quizzed about working with Ileana, he says, "It is always great to work with somebody who is good at their job and doesn't take their stardom for granted. I've not interacted too much with Ileana, but she is approaching her first Hindi film with a lot of confidence, sincerity and honesty. "
