| Ranbir and Deepika romance was the talk of the town. Their break-up grabbed bigger headlines a year later. Recently though, the two were spotted watching a movie together at a suburban cinema. It’s also said that Deepika had invited Ranbir for her housewarming party “We care for each other. We’re friends. I’ve grown up as a person with her, which is why I never share intimate details of our relationship with anyone. I have to ensure her future doesn’t get into trouble because of our past. I’d be really happy to see her settled some day,” says Ranbir, adding, “I’m looking forward to working with Deepika again. We just worked on a quarter of a movie together. This time, it’s a full project, I’m sure our chemistry will work. Maybe we will share a great friendship, which we didn’t when we were seeing each other. As people we were not compatible. There’s no question of rekindling passions.”
Ranbir has a reputation of sorts. Ever since his much-publicised break-up he has been lined with many women he admits 50 per cent of the rumours are true “But they’re exaggerated because we’re in the glamour industry. Honestly, I’m not interested in a relationship right now because I haven’t come across someone who can sweep me off my feet.”
However the actor insists that he isn’t wary of dating and does indeed want to fall in love “I am a normal 28-year-old boy. I want to be in a relationship. However, right now I am single. I have been single for quite a long time, but there are no fears or notions I have about meeting a girl,” says Ranbir
But his image of a Casanova has stayed with him “I admit, I’m no saint, I’ve dated beautiful women, I’ve had serious relationships. But I’m not some serial womaniser as I’m made out to be. When I openly dated an actress, it was blown out of proportion. Maybe I would have been happier if I had kept it under wraps! How come media does’t write about married actors and actresses having affairs with their co-stars? Suddenly it get all moralistic? Maybe I’m not powerful enough, so I get written about.” |

Sonam Kapoor claims that the two of you are no longer friends “ Sonam is justified in whatever she says. We were friends; we didn’t work on it at all and went our seperate ways. For the record, I haven’t been offered any films with Sonam yet. Maybe when we work together again, we can mend bridges.”
Was Nargis the cause of his break up with Katrina Kaif In the first place, “I was never in a relationship with Katrina for Nargis or anyone else to break it up. Simple! I’m extremely and deeply fond of Nargis. She’s a wild child, spiritual, bohemian and well travelled. She’s lovely. Sometimes she’s a child, sometimes she’s all grown up. I’m not in love with her or in a relationship with her.”
What about his reported cold war with Priyanka Chopra “There's no cold war. Priyanka's a darling; I'm extremely fond of her. We need to be more focused on the sets (of Barfee), because we're playing serious characters, so we can't come across as back-slapping buddies.”
Does showbiz make him a little fickle and detached “It’s easy to get deluded. Yeah, you become fickle, you start living in some strangely delusional world sometimes. You don’t find time for family and friends. I hope I do find serious, meaningful attachments. Right now, I’m more interested in making my career. There are days when I’m lying on my bed scrolling my contact list again and again wondering whom to call. And sometimes there’s no one. Your friends have moved on. You have left some people behind. It’s the nature of the beast. I’ve made my peace with it.”
