| What about Bipasha and Anushka (Sharma).. “Let me just say that the day I'm in love, I will hold her hand and walk with pride. I think I am single.”
Shahid has made himself "available" for marriage, feels that the institution brings in lot of confidence and a sense of stability. On married actors being successful in Bollywood, Shahid says, "I agree that most of our superstars in the industry are married...are successful. But again it (being successful) is not so much related to whether you are married or not. It takes certain amount of time to establish yourself as an actor. Usually to reach there you need the support of somebody who loves you, takes care of you."
"And you end up getting married and settling down. It (marriage) gives you a lot of confidence and certain sense of stability. I think it is beautiful if your partner is with you on your journey in life... if you have somebody to share your success it’s great," he said thoughtfully.
So is he available for tying the knot. "Are you trying to say that if I get married I will be more successful? I am available and koi bhi achi ladki chahe toh...(If any of the good girls want). I don't have any reservations for marriage."

You came without a free launch, but were declared a superstar in the making. Unfortunately, you’ve always been a step or two behind that title, “That’s ok, I don’t live my life by titles. I feel terrible about the comparisons with everybody because I feel I am really undeserving of being compared to someone like a Shah Rukh Khan or Aamir Khan or any of these people who have had such achievements. There’s a long way for me to go and I don’t want that pressure on me, frankly. Like I said, it’s not simple when you don’t have anyone backing you. I have a lot more than what I had expected. But there’s too much more that I need to do and I am ready to work day and night for it. I work harder than anyone else and that’s what makes me what I am. That’s my mantra.”
How will Shahid Kapoor define success “I realised now that success is really periodic. It’ll keep changing. What matters is satisfaction. And what’s most vital is to find success where you are pleased and not run after it. Of course, it’s most vital in this profession to be successful. But the thought should not be to run after that. Do work that you believe in and that makes you pleased.”
Is Ranbir Kapoor your buddy now “ This is a new thing I've heard - do-teen din saath bita lete hai (spend two-three days together) and people term you as best friends. Ranbir and I know each other and he seems like a chilled out chap. 'Friend' is a word I use for people I know will stand by me when things are not going well.”
There were reports that fans screamed for Ranbir, while you were ignored, in Hong Kong recently, “I was very surprised to read that. When Ranbir and I were together in Hong Kong, there was no third person present. Ranbir is a chilled out guy so I am sure he would not have said anything about our time together. So I fail to understand where such ridiculous stories about some screaming fans comes from.”
So who does he think are his rivals “I don't see any of my colleagues as rivals. I don't think our generation needs to do that. We are a chilled out lot and we should all be happy. I am not an insecure person. For me, insecurity comes when something I do does not come across the way I thought it would. It would come if I had nothing more to say as an actor. I have a long way to go.” |
