Did she have a problem, consenting to do ‘Heroine’ after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, had already started work on it? “See, actors do films on the basis of a script that comes their way instead of thinking about whether it had reached another actor or not,” Kareena makes a stern statement here, “Also, let’s not forget that Madhur had offered this film first to me as good as one-and-a-half years ago. When I couldn’t do it, he went ahead with someone else. The fact that Madhur came back to me and I am doing it is because it’s a great film and that is all that matters.” she said.

Detractors term her manipulative, calculative, scheming “Honestly, there was no game-plan; everything just happened and things fell into place. I have selected the best from what has come my way. Now if all the Khans offer me their films at the same time, it just shows that God has been kind to me. Having said that, I must add that I am loving every moment that is coming my way.” smiles Kareena.
The Kapoor gal has her plans in place post-shaadi. When asked if she will work at the same pace as she is doing today, she replies candidly, "My career will always be the way it is. Work is my passion. Saif and I are very urban and contemporary thinking people. We have our own space, he does his own thing. We don't even discuss work and I don't think he has ever asked me which film I am doing. He probably gets to know from the newspapers and magazines (laughs). If I am in a meeting, he doesn't even ask me whom I had a meeting with. He is the most supportive man I could have asked for."
The No.1 crown sits pretty on her head currently, guess this rocking phase is all set to continue, what with her upcoming films being entirely different from each other. With a great run behind her and many more up her sleeve, Kareena need not worry about any competition. “Well, it is a wonderful stint to be a part of,” says Kareena in a confident tone, “After all, in this industry, you are as good as your last film. Eventually it is all about the commercial viability of the stars. In this industry it is rare that everyone is happy with a film or its success. Fact of the matter is that moneymaking films may not get five star reviews but the audiences make it huge. I am here to entertain the audience and not to deliver rocket science. If you have to use brains then please go and read books; I am fine with that.” says Kareena calling spade a spade here.
It has been speculated that her continuous shooting schedules is taking a toll on her health “Yes, physically it has taken a toll on me and I am very exhausted. Thankfully, I had a breather post Ra.One but then Heroine kick-started; it’s back to the grind again. However, I am trying to take out time for family and strike a balance. Looking on the brighter side, this is something I always wanted. I love working, it is my passion.”

While there is no stopping Bebo today, 2012 could bring competition closer home from sister Karisma making a comeback with Vikram Bhatt’s Dangerous Ishq. “Now isn’t she looking like a million bucks today?” gleams Kareena. “In fact, she is looking better than any of us actresses on the scene. I have seen some of the rushes of Dangerous Ishq and she is looking simply divine.”adds Kareena.
Here’s a little wishful thinking: Kareena and Karisma fighting it out for the top slot “I don’t think that will ever happen,” says Bebo with a wide grin. “I will always be 10 steps behind Karisma at every stage of my career. I love and respect her beyond films. The day she comes on screen again, she would be the undisputed queen of Hindi cinema.” says a beaming Kareena.
Her relationship with Saif has always been in the limelight and will always be “ It's sad. India's always trying to ape the west and they're trying to be like the paparazzi, in LA. So, I just put on my best smile and simply walk on. There are times I'd be really tired and looking disheveled, but now I'm like, it doesn't matter. Movies and being a star are just a part of my world. It's not my world. I've always been a girl who has separated my movies and my personal life. I've never spent my time in a way that... oh, it's 12 o clock at night and I'm still giving interviews, talking to the press, or putting out stories that I'm doing this or that, or that I've fainted. I clearly do have a life of my own and I hope my fans know that.”
The disheveled bit has clearly not worked for her in the past couple of days with it being suggested that she is hiding a baby bump “It's bizarre! Can you believe it? That's like... I don't understand. But I am happy looking disheveled. Clearly they don't know what Hollywood stars look like. I mean like please, it's so sad what things here have come to. A loose T-shirt means that I'm concealing a baby bump, it's disgusting.”
And all those who feel that Bebo is jealous of her beau's leading ladies, especially Deepika Padukone, Bebo clears that, too. "I encourage Saif to work with everybody. He is free to work with whoever he wants to, it is not my concern. Even I am free to work with whoever I want, Saif never interferes," says Kareena.
