| Unlike most stars who find it cumbersome to work in 'Multi-starrers’ Akshay says the experience is unmatched 'Multi-starrers are fun to work on. There are so many actors, so many people that you end up laughing and giggling with even during the take. The director gets fed up and says cut, but somebody or the other keeps goofing up or saying something wrong. A director needs to have patience enough to put up with all of this. It's a very difficult job to do.”
Talking about his co-star, Akshay is full of praise for Sonakshi Sinha "Sonakshi is a very simple girl. She comes on time, she works and goes home. She is very professional. She has never bullied or played pranks on people. She is a beautiful girl with her own style of acting. I do not like the concept of size-zero. She is a voluptuous beauty and that is her plus point.”he added.
How different is the action in Rowdy Rathore compared to the earlier action films of his “ Rowdy Rathore has raw, street-style action that I’ve never done before. I have always done martial arts and action involving more technicalities. But this is street fight.”
But the style of filmmaking including action is constantly being compared to Salman Khan’s Dabangg “ It’s better to be compared to a superhit film than be associated to a flop one. So it is completely ok if people compare us with Dabangg.”
Akshay have tried all kinds of genre what keeps him going “Despite doing comedy for 12 years or so, I can’t say I know everything about comedy. In the same way, in spite of doing action for 14 to 15 years, I cannot say I know everything about action. Action, comedy, romance, horror, drama…all these genres are wider as you will get to see more elements in these genres in every film that you do. There are many branches in these existing genres. Like you could learn or see a different kind of humor with every comedy film, action is changing so much. I see myself learning more and more things.”
Elated about welcoming a new member in family, Akshay say’s he spends most of his time at home with Twinkle, who is expecting the baby in September this year.The couple tied the knot in 2001 and has a 11-year-old son Aarav. He says his son Aarav is happy that he is going to have a younger sibling "Aarav is too happy now as he will have a sibling at home."
Does he speak about his films to son Aarav “ I want my son to be away from films. I want him to enjoy his childhood. I want him to go and play football. Go on the beach and enjoy life, what has he got to do with my work?”
The years that he has spent in the industry hasn’t really affected him as a person. He still maintains a very disciplined lifestyle. One doesn’t see him frequenting social dos too “I don't enjoy partying. I don't understand why they play music so loud. I like to sleep early. I go off to sleep by 9-9.30. I have my dinner by 6:30, and I don't drink tea or coffee. I get up at 4.30 in the morning.”
How does his wife Twinkle adjust his routines “ Twinkle sleeps by 8.45. This is the only similarity that Twinkle and I share (laughs). Life becomes very calm when your partner sleeps at the same time. We share this one thing in common, sleeping early and getting up early.” |
