Neil
(Ajay Devgan) is a grown-up man with the brain of a
seven year-old. Innocent and kind, Neil is loved by
everyone.
Through
his eyes, he sees the world as a place which has no
evil. This, he shares with his daughter Gungun whom he
loves beyond imagination.
The rest of his private world is made up of his landlady
and a book store where he works.

Gungun's
mum, Maya (Esha Deol) came briefly into Neel's life but
left after giving birth to the child.
So for seven years, Neil and Gungun just had each other
for comfort. Their world was a happy one but not
perfect.
None
of their difficulties were big enough that couldn't be
concurred by Neil's simple and sensible approach.
But
on the eve of Gungun's seventh birthday, Neil's father
in law, Dayanath, makes an entry. He recently found that
he has a granddaughter.

His
first meeting with Neil does not go well. So Dayanath
files a lawsuit to gain custody of the child.
As Neil's world shatters around him, his decision to
search for the best lawyer in town, lands him at the
office of Neeti Khanna (Sushmita Sen).
Ambitious but with a son whom she inadvertently
neglects, Neeti is a far cry from the role model for
Neil's court battle.

But
after much persuasion, Neeti decides to take on his
case.
She soon realises that fighting a powerful businessman
like Dayanath isn't the only hurdle.
A handicapped man responsible for raising a child isn't
going to go down well with the jury.
Will Neeti be able to win Neil's case? And what about
Maya? Will she help Neil when she hears about her
father's quest?
Main Aisa Hi Hoon (meaning this is the way I am)
takes an emotional look at life and what it brings round
the corner.
The filmwhich is expected to release anytime now is
directed by Harry Baweja and stars Ajay Devgan in the
lead role.
