can’t get enough of Abhishek Bachchan. ‘The last of
the old-world Prince Charming(s)’ they gush. But Mr.
superstar has his intense gaze fixed on only one beauty -
Aishwarya Rai - (ahem) at least if the visuals of Umrao
Jaan are anything to go by. This is not
for the first time when the sexiest Asian (Abhishek) is
getting linked to his leading ladies. In the past also,
Abhishek's on-screen and off-screen chemistry with Rani
Mukherjee and Priyanka Chopra has been much talked about.
Now, only time can tell whether Aishwarya and Abhishek are
actually getting hitched or is it just a publicity
gimmick.

betters and even astrologers buzzing with gossip!
While inside sources claim that Aishwarya and
Abhishek plan to marry next year, another
speculation doing the rounds is whether it is a
mere coincidence that the talk of 'marriage plans'
has started just days before the release of their
movie Umrao Jaan... Sources from both the family members confirm
that the couple plan to get married on Valentine's
Day. |

According to a close friend of the couple,
"Preparations are on from both the sides. It was more
obvious than ever when two families celebrated Diwali
together at Big B's Mumbai house."
further
informed, "When Ash's family arrived at 'Jalsa', they
were greeted by Bachchans in a very traditional manner.
Ash even touched the feet of Amitabh and Jaya for
blessings. Even when the puja was performed, Ash and Abhi
sat together.

According to another source, "Amitabh
didn't want a girl from the industry but when he worked
with Aishwarya, he really liked her. In fact, all credit
should go to Ash who with her grace and charm convinced
Amitabh to accept her as 'ghar ki bahu'."

According
to a close family friend, "Ash's previous link-ups
are bit of a problem for the Bachchan family. They don't
want any controversy at any stage after marriage and still
if there would be any stumbling block, it will be because
to Ash's past."

However,
the couple in question denies any such nuptial plans. Here
is what Ash has to say:
There
is no denying the fact that our friendship has developed
from where it started. But I've absolutely no plans for
marriage in the near future." Marriage is an
institution I believe in. I think it is a beautiful
institution, and definitely one I'll happily be entering
whenever God defines or decides, and an announcement will
be made. It is not something I'd want to keep hidden or
not let be known. I'll
definitely announce it.
Ask
Abhishek about this marriage rumour and he coyly states:
How
did he react to persistent rumours of romance?
“You
don’t react. It’s that simple as that. Unfortunately,
as you know, the situation is such that the media seems to
talk about ‘romances’ on an hourly basis now; so you
just don’t react to it."
You must
feel like clarifying sometime, when there is mention of
how the lovely Aishwarya is ‘now within the mighty
Bachchan fold - attending all your functions’?
"Its
very sad today that people who're meant to be the
watchdogs of the nation are resorting to fabricating
articles in order to make print. But you’ve got to look
upon it positively and say ‘Ok! You just have to
approach it in a way that it’s all fabricated. It’s
put a smile on someone’s face - the writer’s mainly -
but fine. Let someone achieve what they want to. It really
doesn’t matter, as long as you’re focused on the
job.”
