Rai’s
troubles with Sherawat began a couple of years ago when
the latter said, “Let Aishwarya Rai cover her face
first, then I’ll cover my body.”
Then
Sherawat threatened she would overshadow Rai at last
year’s Cannes International Film Festival, where the
two were promoting their films, The Myth and Provoked
respectively.
“Mallika
has a sharp mouth and knows how to attract attention,
even when she’s not saying much, just with her
costumes and her attitude,” the source said. As
for Balan, Rai had reportedly snubbed her during the
shooting of Guru.
Padam
Kumar, COO, India, of Roger Nair Productions, said,
“Mallika and Vidya are not on the list. More names
will be added in the next two days. Mani Ratnam and
Bobby Bedi will be the best people to answer this
question.”
Bedi
said, “Vidya is shooting for Hey Baby in
Australia. I spoke to her three days ago when she was in
Mumbai and we’re trying to get her to be there at the
premiere. Aishwarya wouldn’t do something like this.
As for Mallika, I
don’t know as of today. I can tell you for sure only
on Tuesday.”
Ratnam
and Hari Singh, Rai’s business manager — both did
not answer the questions about the absence of Mallika
and Vidya from Guru premiere
invites list.
