She’s an unlikely movie star. Eyes dancing with mischief, dimples flashing impudent charm, curls tumbling in careless abandon and a face that almost schoolgirlish.
she’s nothing like the well coiffeured, perfectly made-up Barbie Doll stereotypes crowding movie town. Preity herself knows that she’s different.

She may have found romance in real life with the hunky Ness Wadia. But it seems that she's had enough of playing the romantic, bubbly 'girl next door' - a term the feisty Zinta claims she detests. Having signed her latest film with director Rituparno Ghosh, Preity's now going all out to prove that there's more to her than just her dimples and girl next-door charm.
"I've just signed a new film with Rituparno Ghosh. I'm very excited to work with him on this unusual and artistic film. It has an excellent star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Shefali Chaya and Divya Dutta," said Preity.

Preity Zinta the hot bollywood actress

Preity Zinta wants to do serious cinema. But for now she’s ecstatic about her next release, Shaad Ali’s Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. “I worked with Shaad in Dil Se, my first release. I was just a newcomer then and he was an assistant director. It was déjà vu time working with him again,” says Zinta.

She says it was a delight to work with Ali for his “madness and cuteness and also sweetness,” she chirps. She also got a chance to work with Bobby Deol, who features in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom along with Abhishek Bachchan. “The first ever shot I did was with Bobby in Soldier,” she recalls.

Though Jhoom Barabar Jhoom is scheduled to release in the first half of the year, Zinta maintains a silence. Her justification: “Everyone will talk about the film once it’s released. So why start revealing any details now?”
She’s eager to talk about the shoot though. “It brings a smile to my face. Working with two mad boys, Abhishek and Bobby was a laugh riot. Maybe because all three of us are Aquarians,” she reasons.

On Yashraj Films’ Ta Ra Rum Pum, directed by Siddharth Raaj Anand, when asked if she was hurt for not being approached for the project, Zinta says, “For once I was quiet”. So, did she call Yashraj to ask why she wasn’t a part of it? “No, no. I’m not that childish. But yes, when I was chatting with Saif after the film was announced, I did mention this to him and that’s it.” she concludes.

When asked about the highs and lows she has faced in life Preity said “If the media can glorify, they can rip you apart for one mistake. Life is unfair, especially if you are famous. You have to pay the price for being famous and for million people waving and saying….”I love you!’ The high is so high that when you fall everything crashes around you. There’s nobody around you, that’s why we need good friends in the industry”.

We quizzed her about some of the things she'll never be caught doing in real life.
