However,
this jam-packed schedule of hers has compelled
Aishwarya to bid adieu to Rajkumar Santoshi’s
ambitious project Saamna, in which she had a
very strong woman-oriented role. Aishwarya’s
manager Harii Singh confirmed this news, saying,
“Yes, it’s true that Aishwarya has had to
opt out of Saamna. And the only reason behind it
is her schedule.
What
happened was that, we had allotted 25 days to
Saamna in the months of May to July 2005 since
Aishwarya had those days free from the shoots of
her international projects. Rajkumarji was going
start shooting for Saamna after Family. But as
luck would have it, the schedule of Family got
postponed due to various reasons, so much so
that the film saw the light of the day only
recently. Due to that the shoot of Saamna kept
getting postponed.
Now,
Rajkumarji wanted Aishwarya’s dates in
January, February and March. However, it is not
possible for her to spare any dates. She is
currently shooting for Umrao Jaan. The shoot has
to be wrapped before summer sets in. At the end
of this month, she’ll be off for the shoot of
Dhoom 2. So, that makes it impossible for her to
spare time for Saamna.”
So,
what is Aishwarya’s reaction at having had to
leave such a good project? “Of course
Aishwarya is very disappointed,” says Singh,
adding, “It was a great role with a great
director and a great actor like Nana Patekar.
Also, Aishwarya and Rajkumarji share such a
great relation. But there was no other option.
In fact, Rajkumarji has also offered her a
comedy with Ajay Devgan and if the dates get
sorted out, Aishwarya would love to do it.” |
